Fire behaviour of composite materials using kerosene burner tests at small-scales

چکیده
In order to study fire behavior of composites used in the aeronautic field, a kerosene-flame burner has been designed and built allowing thermally stress one side small samples with flame, reproducing scenario an engine fire. The optimized obtain same conditions as standard tests, flame temperature 1100 °C heat flux 116 kW/m2. During rear face is measured infrared camera, mass loss weighting cell. An original method developed determine convective coefficient on composite well contribution radiative part total flux. It uses thermal balance thin steel plate heated by flame. bench test was analyze two carbon fiber reinforced polymer composites, first thermosetting matrix (epoxy 8552) second thermoplastic (polyphenylene sulfide). results are shown analyzed. comparison will highlight differences observed terms behaviour exposed kerosene

evaluation of mechanical behaviour of sandstone and andesibasalt rockfill materials using triaxial & direct shear tests
the mechanical behaviour of rockfill materials and aggregates depends not only on particle size and compaction, but also on their strength and lithological properties. in this research two types of large triaxial and direct shear tests are performed on rockfill materials. this paper compares the stress-strain behaviour of sandstone and andesibasalt materials in triaxial compression tests (3006...
متن کاملSintering behaviour of composite materials borosilicate glass-ZrO2 fibre composite materials
The characteristics and properties of mixtures of a borosilicate glass and ZrO2 fibres obtained from compacts isothermally sintered are presented. Three different particle sizes of glass powder and different sintering temperatures and times have been used to reveal the influence of the specific surface area and the glass matrix viscosity on sintering. The fundamental developed aspects are the s...
متن کاملLinking complex forest fuel structure and fire behaviour at fine scales
Improved firemanagement of savannas and openwoodlands requires better understanding of the fundamental connection between fuel heterogeneity, variation in fire behaviour and the influence of fire variation on vegetation feedbacks. In this study, we introduce a novel approach to predicting fire behaviour at the submetre scale, including measurements of forest understorey fuels using ground-based...
